New systems here are also eligible for a one-time Solar Generation Rebate of $300 per kilowatt of installed generating capacity (smart inverter required, capped at systems up to 5,000 kW), plus a separate Battery Storage Rebate of $300 per kilowatt-hour, which requires enrolling in ComEd’s Rate BESH and cannot combine with Community Solar. It’s not recurring, and it’s only available once per system; ComEd’s stated timeline is roughly 90 days after your system is energized and your application is complete.
Since January 1, 2025, new ComEd solar customers are placed on supply-only crediting rather than legacy full-retail net metering; the credit offsets only the Supply portion of your bill, not delivery charges and taxes. If your Huntley-area system was installed and interconnected before December 31, 2024, you keep full legacy net metering for that system’s life, up to 30 years. Illinois Shines: How the Incentive Actually Works
Illinois Shines is the state’s Adjustable Block Program, administered on behalf of the Illinois Power Agency to help the state meet its renewable energy goals.
